Langford Primary today welcomed back its children and staff for the new year and its first day as an academy.
In becoming an academy, the school has joined United Learning – a group of academies and independent schools located across the country. As part of United Learning, pupils will be able to enjoy exciting activities designed to enhance their overall school experience and staff will benefit from the Group’s wide range of high-quality professional development opportunities.
Seamus Gibbons, the school’s Head Teacher, said:
'We are thrilled to begin 2016 as part of United Learning. It is always exciting to return to the school after the Christmas holidays but this year there is an added buzz about the school.
'Over the past year, we have been working very closely with United Learning who have provided invaluable support as we seek to drive up standards across the school. As a United Learning school, our pupils and staff now have access to fantastic opportunities and we can’t wait to meet all the other schools in the Group.’
Jon Coles, Chief Executive of United Learning, said:
‘I am delighted to welcome Langford Primary into United Learning. Under the leadership of Seamus Gibbons, the school is making significant progress and we look forward to continuing to support staff as they seek to provide each and every pupil with the high-quality education they deserve.’
