John Smeaton students celebrate GCSE success

Students at John Smeaton Academy are today celebrating their GCSE results. 48% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades – a rise of 7 percentage points on last summer’s results.

Students celebrating today include:

  • Hannah Moment – D*, 3 A* and 4 A grades
  • Adam Vickers – D*, 2 A* and 6 A grades
  • Amy Sparham – D*, 2 A* and 5 A grades
  • Courtney Booth – D*, 1 A* and 6 A grades
  • Tom Berwick – D*, 1A* and 3 A grades

(D* = BTEC Distinction*)

Julian Snape, Head Teacher of the academy, said:

“We are all delighted with these GCSE results, which represent a significant improvement on last year’s figures and demonstrate the continued progress we are making at John Smeaton Academy.

“I would like to congratulate all our students and staff on these results which are testament to their hard work and dedication. I am very proud that so many of our students have secured the results they need to successfully begin the next stages of their school careers.”
