Pupils at Lincoln Minster School are enjoying A level success today after receiving their results and are now planning the next stages of their lives.
Whilst many are preparing to go to University, some have opted for specialist schools and colleges and apprenticeships.
86% of Lincoln Minster School's pupils achieved a Grade C and above, a 5% increase from 2016, with 27% achieving A*-A grades.
Will Roberts will be studying Medicine at the University of Sheffield and was delighted with his four A’s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Extended Project Qualification. Will said:
“I was very pleased with my results when I logged on to UCAS this morning. The teaching and careers advice I’ve received at Lincoln Minster School has been great and I couldn’t have achieved these results without them. I’m really looking forward to University, meeting new people and starting the next stage of my life.”
May Pattinson is going on to study Primary Teaching at Durham University and said:
“I was nervous before receiving my results but I’m extremely happy to be accepted into Durham as the course I’ll be doing is rated first in the country. The school have been extremely supportive and helped me gain additional skills beyond my lessons.”
Imogen Burch has secured a place at Central St Martins in London with two A’s and a B and will be studying Jewellery Design.
She said: “It’s been nerve-wracking waiting for my results but I’m very pleased and relieved. The art department at the school is incredible and the teachers have been so helpful. I’m looking forward to University and the next steps in my career.”
Other notable pupil successes include:
- Shawn Jia, who achieved an A* and two A’s and will be studying Management at University College London
- Matt Hurst, who achieved an A an two B’s and will go on to study Architectural Engineering at the University of Sheffield
- Regina Fan, who achieved two A’s and B and will be studying Fashion at the University of Leeds.

We wish them all every success in the future as they go on to university, higher level apprenticeships or in to the world of work.
