Lincoln Minster School pupils are celebrating exam success today as the school continued its strong academic tradition of attaining excellent grades following the release of this year’s GCSE examination results.
Many of the pupils receiving their results today will now progress into the school’s Sixth Form which achieved outstanding A Level results last week.
Some notable successes:
Mia Gray achieved 10A* - including a new Grade 9 in English - she said:
“I am really happy and quite shocked with my results, particularly doing well in English as I was worried about the new grading and it was really hard. I was nervous last night but now I am just so pleased. I hope to become a doctor and am staying at the school to do my A Levels before I go on to university.”
Daniel Newton was also pleased with his results, he said:
“I have tried not to think about my results to much until today as I didn’t know what to expect but I got a mix of A*, A and B grades and I am so pleased that I have done really well. I am starting A Levels here in September and then I want to go on to study engineering at university.”
Other notable successes included, Lindsay Williams who achieved 10A* and 1 A grade and Florence Hand who achieved 9A* and 2A grades.
Headmaster Mark Wallace commented:
“I am delighted with the GCSE results achieved by our pupils this year. This is a result of hard work, resilience and exceptional commitment to their studies. These results also demonstrate the dedication of our remarkable staff who have given additional time and support whenever it is required. I am certain our pupils will continue to excel as they move into Sixth Form and take full advantage of the outstanding opportunities available to them here at Lincoln Minster School.”
