A group of Accrington Academy Sixth Form students took a bite out of the Big Apple when they visited New York as part of a Business Studies trip.
The visit, which ran from 26th to 30th October, saw the group of 14 students and three staff visit the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre and Statue of Liberty, as well as taking in the Broadway show, School of Rock.
In support of the Business Studies theme, other highlights included a special marketing tour of Macy's, showing the visiting students how the world famous department store markets itself, as well as a trip to Wall Street, helping students to develop their understanding of New York’s financial district, from its inception to the present day.
Accrington Academy’s Head of School, Nicola Palmer said:
“As part of our commitment to providing our students with an education with character, we feel it’s important to enhance their studies through a range of supporting activities, of which the New York visit is one, helping to give those taking part an inside look at the world of high finance.”
