researchED is an educational conference which has been held across the globe, including in London, Amsterdam, Philadelphia, Cape Town, Dubai, Chile, Melbourne and Toronto, with the Bournemouth event having taken place at Avonwood Primary over the last four years.
Attendees benefited from three insightful keynote addresses given by Sir Jon Coles, Chief Executive of United Learning, Professor Haili Hughes and Dr Kate Paradine, and engaged in 20 individual parallel sessions. These sessions included discussions around how to best develop and coach teachers, the importance of high-quality oracy, and the role of AI in education.
Joe Jackson-Taylor, Deputy Headteacher at Avonwood Primary who organised the event, said:
“Thank you to all those who joined us at this year’s researchED conference, in particular our keynote speakers whose addresses provided us with much insight and food for thought. We thoroughly enjoy hosting the event at our school each year and helping to facilitate some much-needed and important discussions amongst education professionals.”
Chris Jackson, Headteacher at Avonwood Primary, said:
“We are so pleased to have held another successful researchED event at Avonwood, exceptionally well organised by our Deputy Headteacher Joe Jackson-Taylor. Each year, we always leave the conference feeling inspired and invigorated by the discussions that have been had and with new ideas about how we can best support our children and young people, as well as our staff. This year was no different and I commend and thank all those who took the time to attend.”
Sir Jon Coles, Chief Executive of United Learning, said:
“This event provided an excellent opportunity for teachers to join together, learn from research evidence and share best practice with one another. It was, as ever, a real privilege to spend time with practitioners so dedicated to their profession and willing to share with each other.”
