Pupils and staff at Langford Primary School are celebrating this week after the school received a glowing report from Ofsted following an ungraded inspection in November. The inspector found that the school has effectively maintained the standards identified at the previous inspection, during which it was rated ‘Outstanding’.
In their report, the inspector praised pupils’ positive attitudes towards their education. They noted that pupils “genuinely enjoy learning” and are “excited to come to school every day”. Equally, they are said to take “pride” in their learning and to relish meeting the high expectations set by staff. As the inspector found, this means that they achieve “exceptionally well across the curriculum” and can get the most out of their time at school.
The inspector was also impressed by staff at the school. Commending staff’s “deep understanding of the curriculum”, they noted that staff’s expertise is developed through “excellent professional development opportunities” which enable them to deliver the “well-thought-out curriculum” to a high standard. Likewise, staff were praised for ensuring that all pupils, including those with SEND, can access the curriculum and are supported to do so.
Whilst the inspector highlighted the strengths of the academic curriculum, they also found the school’s work to develop pupils’ character to be equally strong. According to the report, pupils engage actively with the local community, such as by donating to the local food bank and the school choir performing for residents of a nearby care home.
Langford Primary School is part of schools group United Learning and belongs to its West London Cluster which also includes Queen’s Manor Primary School and Fulham Primary School.
Victoria Kidd, Head of School at Langford Primary School, said:
