Students at Northampton Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results. 55% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths. In total, 92% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C.
Anne Hill, Principal of Northampton Academy, said:
‘We are pleased with these results which have consolidated the significant improvements we have made over the last three years during which time the number of students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and maths has improved by 20 percentage points. We have also seen large increases in the number of students achieving the higher grades in English Literature, physics, chemistry, biology, science and modern foreign languages.
‘We are delighted to be welcoming our largest ever cohort of Year 12 students to our Sixth Form which, as last week’s excellent A Level results demonstrated, is going from strength to strength.
‘Our achievements this year would not have been possible without our staff. They have worked tirelessly to support students and I thank them for their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.’
