- Michael McCaul with 8 A* and 2 A grades;
- Harry Caven with 5 A* and 4 A grades;
- Bethany Soane with 4 A* and 6 A grades;
- Jordan Armstrong with 4 A* and 5 A grades.
Des Bird, Principal of Richard Rose Morton Academy, said:
“Over the past two years we have delivered a step-change in performance across the academy. Everyone who visits us comments on how different the school is to the past and is hugely impressed by our students and staff. Today’s results not only sustain and consolidate last year’s results, but demonstrate that we have continued improvement once again.
“I am particularly pleased to note a significant rise in the percentage of A*/A grades as well as vast improvements in numerous subject areas. The achievement of disadvantaged students has also improved dramatically.
“I am very proud of all our students at Morton. Many of those celebrating today will now move on to our joint Sixth Form and will continue their education as part of United Learning. “Both this week and last, it has been hugely encouraging to see Morton students receive the grades they need and deserve and see doors open to them for successful future lives.
“A number of our staff suffered in the floods and yet remained totally focused on our students and worked alongside them to ensure that nothing impacted on their ability to continue their studies. I am fortunate to have such professional colleagues and thank them for everything they have done over the past two years as we have been turning the school around.”
Derek Davies, Executive Principal of the Richard Rose Academies, said:
“I would like to congratulate all our students and staff at Morton for continuing this year on year improvement in its GCSE results. We have a highly competent and confident team at Morton under Des Bird’s leadership and it is very pleasing to see this recognised in today’s achievements.
“We have very high expectations for Morton Academy over the next few years and these results consolidate the progress to date and continue to build its success with, yet again, its best ever results.”
