Sheffield Springs Academy students saw their First World War inspired performance earn them nine awards in this year’s Rock Challenge competition.
‘Rock Challenge’ uses the performing arts to help promote healthy life choices, with the 2019 reginal final taking place at Production Park, Wakefield on Saturday (9th March).
For this year’s entry, Sheffield Springs Academy’s 50 strong team turned to the First World War and the theme of remembrance. Entitled ‘Goodnight Kiss,’ their piece saw them receive nine awards in the following categories:
- Stage Crew
- Stage Use
- Performers’ Choice
- Performance Skill
Mark Shipman, Head Teacher at Sheffield Springs Academy, said:

The nine awards are a testament to the hard work of all involved and once again demonstrates our commitment to providing an Education with Character – an education which introduces our students to new experiences, helping to broaden their horizons.”
