Carter Community School’s students and staff are marking their highest ever GCSE results today.
49% of students achieved five or more 9-4/A*-C grades including English and maths, under this year’s new GCSE grading structure. Last year, 45% of students achieved the then equivalent of these grades.
Amongst those celebrating were:
- Shannon Connolly, who achieved eleven good passes with five 7s;
- James Hopper, who achieved ten good passes with eight 7s or above, and a 9 in History;
- Henry Wakefield, who achieved eleven good passes with six 7s or above.
Sam Davidson, Principal of Carter Community School, said:
“I would like to congratulate all our students who are celebrating today. There are some excellent individual performances here and this is the third time in four years that we have beaten our previous best.
“Each year we are improving the number and quality of qualifications that our students receive. Our younger students are always motivated and inspired by the success of those above them, so we look forward to continuing our success.”
