Year 9 student Courtney from The Regis School has been unveiled as the winner of United Learning’s annual Christmas design competition.
The competition, which is open to all of the Group’s schools – primary and secondary, independent and state academy – attracts large numbers of entries each year.
Courtney’s artwork, while not the only reindeer submitted this year, stood out for its bold use of colour and quality. It was selected as the winner by United Learning Chief Executive Jon Coles out of an impressive collection of entries.
The design will feature on the Group’s Christmas card this winter. Courtney will also be receiving a £20 Amazon gift voucher in congratulations.
Courtney said on winning the competition:
“I chose this picture because of the details that are in it. I chose the colours because they caught my eye, also because they are Christmas colours.”
Her art teacher, Laura Fusciardi, added:
“I know just how hard Courtney worked on her artwork for the competition – she tried three different colour combinations for her design before deciding on the final version. We’re delighted therefore to hear that her diligence has paid off and that her art will be going out on United Learning cards across the country.”
