Dunottar School in Reigate has visited North Downs Primary School in Brockham to run a workshop with Year 5. Ruth Macintyre, Dunottar’s head of food and nutrition, talked to her eager listeners about the importance of healthy eating, a balanced diet and eating breakfast.
The 64 youngsters enjoyed learning how to make a healthy snack of two calzones with cheese, tomato and sweetcorn. Ruth Macintyre said: “It was such an enjoyable experience to go into a local school and work with such a lovely cohort of children. “Hopefully, this recipe is something that they will feel confident to make again at home.”
One keen Year 5 student commented: "I couldn't wait to eat mine. I finished them before we got home!"
