Sheffield Park Academy’s Emran is fast becoming a video star, after notching up over 400,000 subscribers and an award from YouTube.
Emran, 17, who is studying for his A levels at Sheffield Park Academy’s VI Form and hopes to pursue a career in computing, set up his MixtapeMasters channel just nine months ago, creating videos that combine his love of Korean drama and Bollywood music.
With the number of subscribers growing daily, Emran, from the Darnall area of Sheffield, received a coveted Silver Creator Award from media sharing channel YouTube in recognition of gaining 100,000 followers, but since then, that figure is now fast approaching an incredible half a million.
Said Emran, who moved to Sheffield from Bangladesh five years ago:
“It’s amazing. I’m getting around 100,000 new subscribers every month, which is incredible and everyone here at the academy is so supportive.”
Commenting on Emran’s success, Sheffield Park Academy’s Head of School Clare Bailey said:
“We’re delighted for Emran. It’s an incredible achievement, particularly in such a short space of time and we look forward to him reaching the one million mark for subscribers.”
