Shoreham Academy students are once again celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today. 56% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and Maths continuing the trend of improvement at the school.
Significant successes included:
- Stacey Harrington with 12 A*/A grades,
- Tom Kosteletos with 12 A*/A grades,
- Elena Jukes with 11 A*/A grades,
- Isabelle Lanham with 11 A*/A grades,
- Chantal Ewins with 11 A*/A,
- Mia Cook who gained 10 A*/A (and got an A at AS Level General Studies).
The Academy’s Principal, Mr Jim Coupe was full of praise for his students:
“I am really pleased with these results. Despite the ever-changing landscape of education we are experiencing at the moment our staff and students have once again produced a set of results they should be very proud of.
“I wish all our students the very best in the next stage of their lives which, for the majority of them will be joining our excellent 6th Form”.
Dave Oakes, Vice Principal at Shoreham responsible for GCSE outcomes added;
“I am very proud of our students who have done so well. I would also like to thank their parents for the support they have given. We cannot underestimate the role they play in all of this. We are a team at Shoreham Academy and everyone plays their part in delivering this success”.
These results build on last week’s excellent A Levels success, which saw Shoreham Academy achieving improved results for the fourth consecutive year. Of all grades achieved by students graduating from Sixth Form 44% were A* or B grades, with an impressive 77% of students achieving A*-C.
