DfE tables place school second for reading and ninth for maths
According to Department for Education Performance Tables, pupils at Windale Primary School in Oxford achieved one of the highest performance scores in Reading in Oxfordshire at Key Stage Two last summer. With a well-above average score of 5, the school has been placed an impressive second out of 302 schools in Oxfordshire and in the top 2% of schools in the country. The school also achieved particularly well at Maths and was placed ninth in the Oxfordshire table.
Commenting on the school’s performance, Katie Geran-Haq, Head Teacher of Windale Primary School, said:
“This is an excellent achievement and is the perfect way to end 2019. To be one of the best schools in the DfE Performance Tables for the whole of Oxfordshire is quite remarkable and is testament to the incredible amount of hard work by our children, their families, the whole staff team, United Learning and our partners who work so closely with us.
“At Windale Primary School, we are highly ambitious for our pupils. We know that with the right foundations firmly in place, we can open up a world of opportunities for them and help them to become the very best they can be! With the support of our wonderful teachers and support staff, our pupils are excelling in the classroom and I am very proud of what each and every one of them is achieving.”
Windale Primary School joined United Learning in September 2018. As part of the multi-academy trust, the school benefits from a wide range of support in areas such as teaching and learning, curriculum development and continuous professional development for staff.
Congratulating Windale Primary School, Matthew Wynne, Primary Regional Director at United Learning, said:
“Under Katie Geran-Haq’s leadership, Windale Primary School is making huge strides forward and is giving its pupils the very best education. These strong progress results demonstrate the school’s commitment to its children and their education but there is much more to Windale than excellent learning. Through its commitment to deliver an Education with Character, the school provides children with a whole host of exciting opportunities to develop into happy, confident and responsible individuals. Windale Primary School is a wonderful, inclusive and inspiring school community and we look forward to continuing to work with its fantastic children, staff, governors and parents.”
