Surbiton High School Becomes ‘Apple Distinguished School’
Staff and pupils celebrated for placing technology and innovation at the forefront of education
Surbiton High School are delighted to announce they have been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centres of innovation, leadership and educational excellence that use Apple products to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching and the School environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment’.
Surbiton High School has used iPads within the school environment for over five years and across year groups staff are constantly improving, updating and looking for ways to improve the educational experience for pupils through technology. All subjects benefit from the implementation of this technology; some recent examples of this include opportunities for pupils to video science experiments, the children able to have their work adapted easily to their bespoke requirements, music being composed on apps, easily-accessible learning resources on the School’s Learning Spaces website both from school and home, and homework being distributed, received and marked with greater speed.
Rebecca Glover, Principal commented:
“I am extremely proud of the strong focus on technology within Surbiton High School. The iPad usage within the School and the ability of technology to positively impact on both teachers and pupils from an educational perspective ensures the best outcomes for our pupils.”
